16 years…unbelievable. She had 5 brothers and sisters, but after a very cold period in February 2008 only two survived, we got her when she was 7 weeks old. Her owners called us and told us to pick her up, because she kept running away…. Over the years she saw our house gradually change from a ruïn into a home, she went with us on trips to the Netherlands, sailed on a ferry, visited a castle, and “has seen the world”.
She has had 5 operations and recovered each time. She had two times a "vestibular syndrome"(one very heavy and one smaller) which meant that for a period of time she was not able to move at all. And again each time she recovered. We are extremly proud of her!
She is very lovely, but not one ot the easiest.. When she wants something, even if it takes her a very long time, she will get it!!!. She does not give up easy.
She is not able to walk up and down the stairs alone anymore, so we always do that together, holding her so she does not fall. Walking is also quit an assignment for her, but she keeps on doing it, definitely mor than a kilometre every day.
And she still loves eating, so no problem there. And enjoying her pigs-ear, every Saturday at 3 pm, with on her birthday an extra ear! We love her very, very much!!!
