Spring is in the air...

Yes, finaly the weather is improving and the temperatures are rising.

Winter has been cold, but than again winter is always cold in Galicia. We had lots and lots of rain until January and then we got the nice weather. There is a small stork colony in Panton, the village where we live. Usually the storks arrive around January and leave at the end of July. I have noticed that when the arrive before January, the summer is going to be long and hot. Last year they arrived before Christmas, and we hat a great and hot summer. I have also seen them arrive no earlier than the end of January, and then we hat a wet and cold summer.
This year I saw the first stork on December 7th an of course took a picture.

In general the weather now is sunny but moist, as is the typical Galician climate. During the night we have temperatures around or below zero, during the day around 12 to 15 degrees. Beautiful weather for our pellet stove. It keeps the house perfectly warm and we are enjoying this time of the year very much.
