Operation Bladderstone

7th of June, time 01.15pm time's up

That's how they look like. Okay, I had only one but it was huge. It was the equivalent of 30cc and that's a lot. That was the reason I had to go to the loo every 5 minutes, squeeze out some droplets of urine, under a lot of pain, and go in repeat mode.
Not an ideal situation I was in since the last five month of so. Surely when you keep in mind that this was going on and off since December 2021 when I first noticed I had a bladder stone.

I was very worried when on a evening I went to the toilet and taking a pee hurt like hell and when I looked down I saw a lot of blood. Bloody Hell and this all a few days for Christmas. Oh, what fun it is....
With all the characteristics of an inflammation I was sent home with some anti biotics as a treatment. But of course that did not helped. So our family doctor referred me to a specialist urologist at the hospital.
He figured out soon enough that it was not an inflammation but a bladder stone, and a huge one, being 3.5cm long and 3cm in width.

After an other consult it was clear we needed to go to Lugo for an operation. The stone needed to be destroyed by laser and that was an operation that was not available in Monforte. So we got another referral to a specialist in Lugo who put me on the operation list as semi-urgent. Or 2nd degree urgent, well not urgent enough. So time started ticking.
Then in November 2022 I got appointments for pre-ops in the hospital and I thought "Yippie maybe I get rid of that stone this year before Christmas".... yeah right...

Generally speaking you have your operation within the next 3 to 5 weeks after your pre-ops. But 3 weeks came and went, 5 weeks came and went and in the end I ended up with 286 days on the waiting list for the operation that did not happen before Christmas 2022 but in June 2023.
I'm not complaining, I'm glad that horrible stone is gone that gave me so much discomfort over the past years. It really is a pain in the bladder.... believe me you end up crying in the toilet.

Thank God I got too watch the whole operation on a big screen TV. It was just like a space movie where a laser takes out an enemy vessel and shoots it to kingdom come.
Great movie, I loved every second of it.
So now it feels like a second chance, a new life after more that 2 years of bladder stone stress. We can go out again for a walk or to a restaurant for lunch of dinner or
enjoy our hobby once more.
